you may know I was charged with a 1st degree felony and faced life in prison. Today I plead to misdemeanor carrying a 12mo plea in abeyance and ~$8,000 in restitution. Want to know what I did? The big, bad, scary thing I’m being punished for? I rinsed out an empty paint can
The “footage” police said they had of me dumping paint was of me dumping out WATER. What paint I got on my hands from the outside of the bucket I wiped off on the concrete. When cops said to leave because it was an “unlawful gathering”, I left. LEAVING was when I was detained.
Design based on being a positive carry asset, 100% security, no transparency, no registration, a website (that looks like something designed in paint with a broken hand) and a whitepaper (that looks like a high school ‘Introduction to smart contracts’ group presentation).
I don’t want to paint all gun owners with the same brush, but literally EVERY person I know who owns a gun has, at some point, aimed that gun directly at my face, and told me to stop stealing food from their home.
The only lesson I guess to all this is, if this is what the state was willing to do me, what are they willing to do to you? If this is happening to me, a white woman, for merely touching an empty paint bucket, imagine what they do to people more marginalized or radical than me
